The Shang Hsin Chuan Yu Zhongshan Flagship Store is located under the arcade of Zhongshan North Road, within the Zhongshan commercial district, which is home to a diverse array of brands. The design concept for this project was to “integrate with the rhythm of a leisurely stroll,” aiming to create a sense of ease and subtle experience within the fast-paced urban context.

The entrance employs a “receding” strategy, where the facade is folded into a curve, breaking the continuous, tense linearity of the arcade and forming a transitional vestibule. The adjacent display cabinet, an extension of the counter, is a glass showcase that allows the brand’s presentation to permeate the streetscape, creating a viewing path that intertwines indoor and outdoor spaces.

Birch wood was chosen as the primary material for its natural grain, which conveys the brand’s commitment to pure essence. Due to the chaotic ceiling materials of the original building, the design used exposed beams to restructure the space, integrating lighting to establish a clear sense of order.

Through the transformation of the interface, the vocabulary of materials, and the arrangement of its structure, this project enhances brand recognition and display effectiveness under existing constraints, allowing the brand to release a slow and finely perceptible sensory experience within the city’s rhythm.
