The space is located on the fourth floor of an old apartment building. We need to transform a traditional layout of three bedrooms and two living rooms into a versatile photography studio. The design strategy involves utilizing the advantages of the location to create a well-lit environment while retaining the flexibility for different users to arrange the space.
Natural light is one of the essential elements for a photography studio. Adopting a white color scheme as the overall tone, we aim to establish a clean and bright atmosphere that enhances the prominence of the photography subjects. Additionally, we introduce ample natural light to enrich the interplay of light and shadow, color layers, and the sense of air in the photography. The white base also enables light to produce reflection and diffusion, thus adding a soft touch to the works. Certain areas of the space can be shielded from natural light, allowing photographers to flexibly utilize artificial lighting to create various atmospheres and effects.
In terms of spatial design, we deliberately incorporate diverse window styles and curved doorways to enhance visual variations. Furthermore, we integrate these design elements with the existing beam and column structure, thereby enhancing the diversity of shooting angles and ultimately elevating the variety in outcomes.
