Residence WL E

Here lives a couple with two children and two cats. The original layout was rather cramped, with two secondary bedrooms differing noticeably in size and their convoluted entry-exit paths. To address this issue, we adjusted the position of the kitchen, optimized both flow lines of private and public space, and ensured that each space was balanced in size through the use of visual coherence and storage space.

The overall color scheme is centered around warm, soft sandy color with occasional dark accents. The use of natural and artificial surface materials helps to delineate different areas of the home. In the dining room, acid-etched glass has been employed to create a stable and defining feature that characterizes the core of family communication.

The open shelves in the living room serve as a display area for memories from every trip, while the hollow-out structure satisfies the activity needs of the family’s cats. The design details are reflected in the warm touch of birch material, multi-directional and appropriately sized passages that encourages free exploration, and the ability to transform into different shapes.
