Residence KUO E
The homeowners for this project are a couple with a design background who value the functional aspects of their residence. They also incorporated their vision for future child-rearing into their new home. Therefore, we approached the design from several perspectives.
We aimed to combine practicality with aesthetic concepts. The entire house is equipped with high-efficiency dehumidifiers concealed in the ceiling, regulating indoor humidity and temperature. To hide the bulky equipment and consider future maintenance convenience, we installed large access panels. For materials, we chose natural mineral paints throughout the house to ensure pure indoor air quality.
The color scheme features lively yellow-green tones, complemented by the subtle and restrained Cement Gray, creating a visual rhythm that can inspire color cognition in young children. In terms of spatial planning, an elevated open study houses a large collection of books, serving as an excellent starting point for children to explore the world in the future. In the master bedroom, the clever separation of the dressing table and wardrobe area ensures privacy while maximizing space utilization.
By incorporating functionality and childcare considerations into the detailed design, we express our original intention of pursuing both practicality and aesthetics. This also reflects the homeowners’ foresight for their future life, becoming the most solid support for their child’s growth journey, as well as a warm home filled with beautiful memories for the entire family.
