The homeowner, a tech engineer with a wide range of collections, wanted a unique home that reflected his personal character. Therefore, the core concept of this project was defined as “accommodating change,” with a flexible space system built around the homeowner’s lifestyle using a configurable shelving layout.

The exposed, cast-in-place concrete ceiling not only preserves the original height and construction marks but also serves as a foundational base for subsequent materials and colors. A large beam spanning the center is used as a spatial axis to divide the areas. Meanwhile, equipment and pipelines for the air conditioning, air purification system, and dehumidifier are integrated into the ceiling above the hallway.

The mobile display shelves extend from the entrance to the living room and equipment area. In the living room, a liftable projection screen is used, which can be fully stored inside the cabinet when not in use. This cabinet also doubles as a long bench, converting into a seating area when guests visit, which increases the flexibility and interactivity of the communal space.

The central corridor integrates both storage and work functions. Large sliding doors can be fully opened to reveal a high storage cabinet with a pegboard wall and shelving. The lighting system, designed with the homeowner’s expertise, connects to smart switches and outlets. It also features magnetic track lighting, allowing for easy adjustment of position, direction, and color temperature to create different ambiances.

The overall color palette extends the concrete aesthetic, using a main tone of gray and black. Black metal-textured laminate and various forms of metal shelving shape a low-chroma, precise, and restrained tech-industrial-style home.
