Residence CL E
A young couple who love to travel and enjoy outdoor activities wanted to recreate the ambiance of a hotel in their own home.
By creating a corner in the entrance, the designer adds a sense of ritual to the transition from outside to inside. The main visual focus in the living room integrates audio-visual equipment and a shoe cabinet into a single entity, maximizing spatial efficiency. An inward-curving ceiling with indirect lighting softens the impact of bulky steel beams and creates an airy ambiance. The park view outside the window is reserved for a dining area where friends and family can gather.
Heading to the corridor, privacy is maintained while maintaining a sense of openness. A long desk is accompanied by a thin iron bookcase with fluted glass, and the open shelves on the back of the desk display the owner’s various collections, embellishing the entire space.
Different from the typical residential preference for general lighting, this design features a grayscale color scheme complemented by the calm walnut wood pattern, along with the use of focal lighting to enhance the spatial depth and create a hotel-like atmosphere.
